Reclaimed Wood Lumber

Custom Cut Reclaimed Lumber

We take large beams from old barns and other old structures and re-saw that material on our Timberking 2000 portable band saw mill.  This mill allows us to cut material to nearly any dimension.

Most common materials are 4/4 (1"), 6/4 (1.25"), and 8/4 (2") but we often cut to 4"x4" dimensions and even larger.  It all depends on what you are using the material for.

Multiple Reclaimed Wood Species

Our most common species include White Oak, Red & Grey Elm, Ash, Sycamore, Beech, Pine, and Hickory.  Species vary by location since most of the wood for these structures came from within a short distance of the actual structure.

Why Kiln Dry Reclaimed Wood?

Even though most of this material has been around for a century, it can still have too much moisture for certain types of projects where shrinkage would be very obvious such as walls, table tops and cabinetry.  Moisture in old wood is usually 13-17% and we utilize a kiln to get the moisture out of the wood.

We aren't overly sophisticated with our kiln, but it gets the job done.  We utilize 2 de-humidification kilns to dry our material and are getting ready to add the 3rd.  We typically dry the material down to around 6-8%
